PASA 2018 Obedience and Rally Trials

PASA had two days of Obedience and Rally at Thorson's Arena in Morgan Hill, CA on November 17/18.
They were held in conjunction with PASA Agility trials.

November 17/18 Flier

Highlights of the weekend

Our November 17 Rally trials & November 18 Obedience trials were small but had some really nice results!   The smoke that blanketed most of Northern California seemed to be absent in Morgan Hill, which was  nice. Our judge for all 4 trials was Betty Fisher.  Way too many people to count jumped in to help ring steward & set up the rings both days, including Lora Cox,Nannette Franceschini, Rick Anderson & others who I am sure I forgot.  Many hands made light work, and I am sincerely grateful for each & every person who lent a hand with even 1 or 2 runs.

Saturday’s AM Rally trial’s HIT and High Scoring Aussie went to Rick Anderson & Calvin, with a perfect 200.  Rick’s Kate, in the Advanced class also scored a perfect 200. High Combined went to Katie Van De Sandt and her Aussie Cider with  scores of 178 & 197.  High scoring Other Breed went to Katrina Parkinson & he Border Collie  Fawkes.

Saturday’s PM trial was almost a replay of the AM.  Rick & Calvin once again won HIT, this time coming out on top in a 3 way runoff with Katie & Cider, and  his girl Kate!  It was truly enjoyable to watch these excellent teams compete & cheer each other on.  High Combined went to Katie & Cider with scores of 194 & 198, making them the winner of our Rally Double High Combined award.  Katrina Parkinson & Fawkes once again won High Scoring Other Breed.

Sundays Obedience trials again gave us the opportunity to watch some wonderful teams participating in their chosen sport.  It was nice to see both brand new dogs in Beginner Novice & those who have reached the higher classes of Utility  & ODX.  HIT in the AM trial went to Nannette Franceschini & her dog Hope with a perfect 200 in the Novice B class!   There were no High Combined qualifiers or High Scoring Other Breed in the AM trial.

The PM trial again ended with a 3 way tie for High In Trial, between Nannette Franceschini’s Faith from Open B CDX, Paddy Warner’s Kippy  from the Utility A class, and JoAnne Greiger’s Micah from the Open CDX - A class, all of who had scores of 199.  Our judge said it was so close even in the run off, but Nannette & Faith won in the end.  Faith was also our High Combined dog from the PM trial, and High Scoring Aussie.

I hope to see many of these teams back for our February trials!
