PASA had five agility trials in 2023
February 25/26:
Thorson's Arena, Morgan Hill, CA
April 26/27: Anderson Farm, Livermore, CA
May 27/28/29: Anderson Farm, Livermore, CA
August 5/6: Manzanita Park, Prunedale,  CA
November 18/19 :
Anderson Farm, Livermore, CA
November 18/19

The trial was held at Anderson Farm in Livermore,  CA.  This was an outdoor event.  It was a bit touch and go with showers on Saturday.  Not enough to bother the dogs any.  Sunday was sunny with a bit of a cool breeze.  We moved all the food and  NQ raffle into the workshop. So the only real issue was the mud people picked up on their shoes.

PASA held a one ring event. It was a two day trial offering 2 of each class both days.
Hospitality was yummy, with muffins made by Susan Laursen and Mona's morning spread and home made soups and salad for lunch.

Our
judge was Kat Stimson from Dallas Texas.  This was her first time to be one of our judges and we really enjoyed her.  Her courses had just the right amount of challenge and fun for the handlers and the dogs.

Trial committee was:
Chairs: Tracy Lovelis
Web page: Jean Danver
Awards : Warene Waters
Secretary & Chief Scorekeeper: David Connet
Chief Course Builder: Scott Lovelis
Chief Ring Steward: Helen Bauer, who rewarded workers with lemon baklava (yum)
Equipment: Susan Laursen

Hospitality:  Mona Nichols, muffins by Susan Laursen

Judge housing and transportation to and from the site: Maureen & Suzanne Morlock
Judge airport transportation: Maureen and Susan Laursen
Judge's gift:  Tracy Lovelis
Set up: Richard Anderson, Jean Danver, Mona Nichols
Grounds: Richard Anderson

We had a special retirement event on Sunday afternoon.  13 year old Slyder, owned by
Scout Lovelis ran his last run before his retirement and he got a regular Q.  We all celebrated with cake.

August 5/6, 2023

The trial was held at Manzanita Park in Prunedale, CA.  Prunedale overlooks Moss Landing which pretty much guarantees the weather will be 20 degrees cooler than most places in the summer.  This was definitely true for this trial

It was a bit cold with temperatures in the low 70s at the highest. Our judge was Susan Byrne from College Station, Texas.  Needless to say, she was not used to the Monterey Bay cold. Did not bother the
potluck gang.

PASA held a one ring event. It was a two day trial offering 2 of each class both days.
Hospitality was yummy, with muffins made by Susan Laursen and Mona's morning spread and Togo's sandwiches for lunch.  We had a pot luck on Saturday at the end of the day with PASA serving chicken. There was enough food to feed everyone for lunch the next day.

May 27/28/29, 2023

The trial was held at the Anderson Farm.  The weather was on the cool side for May.   And it was a bit cold with a cool breeze with temperatures in the low 70s at the highest.  People were wearing jackets most of the day and the dogs had lots of energy.  Hospitality was yummy with muffins made by Susan Laursen and Mona's morning spread and Togo's sandwiches for lunch.  We had a pot luck on Saturday at the end of the day with PASA cooking up chicken and burgers. There was enough food to feed everyone for lunch the next day.  There was a record number of ATCHs, as you will see from the pictures below.

PASA held a one ring event. It was a three day trial so the class offerings more  creative than usual. Over all, there were 8 regulars, 5 gambles and 4 jumpers.   We had two judges.  Pamela Meeks from Burleson, Texas was supervising Bambi Ellis from Phoenix, Arizona.    We enjoyed both of them and Bambi's fast courses.

April 15/16, 2023

The trial was held at the Anderson Farm.  It was our first trial of the year in Livermore and there was no rain.  And it was a bit cold with a cool breeze with temperatures in the low 60s at the highest.  There was rather a low turnout, which seems to be the norm for agility trials this winter and spring.   Snow pack and reborn lakes still made it hard for people to travel from the east and south east.   And fear of rain on an outdoor trial may have also had an effect.  But we all had a good time.  Hospitality was yummy with muffins made by Susan Laursen and Mona's morning spread and Togo's sandwiches for lunch.

PASA held its usual one ring event. There were 6 classes a day, 2 of each.   We had two judges.  Sandra Katzen from Bellingham, Washington was supervising Bambi Ellis from Phoenix, Arizona.    We enjoyed both of them and the courses.

Trial committee was:
Chair: Tracy Lovelis assisted by Maureen Loughey

February 25/26, 2023

The trial was held at Thorson's Arena near Morgan Hill, CA.   It was a good place to be since we had quite a bit of rain, especially on Sunday.  Rick Anderson set up an rally ring on Saturday and an obedience ring on Sunday.  You could drop in to practice anytime and, with luck, Rick would be there it give you pointers.

PASA held its usual one ring event. There were 6 classes a day, 2 of each.   That made for some long days.   Richard Picman was our judge.   He had some very interesting courses, especially jumpers.
